File Selection Dialog Box

Commands for working with drawing files display a specific dialog box in which you can navigate through your local drives and your Cloud Storage accounts.

From this dialog box, you can:

  • Access your recently used drawings stored on your computer and Cloud Storage
  • Create a favorites list for your frequently accessed drawings
  • Access, edit, and save drawings from the application on your local drives, on a network location, or directly in your Cloud Storage accounts
  • Search files in different locations
  • Preview files.

Note: You can return to the classic file opening dialog box using the Use system file dialog option from the System Options.

Locations List

Provides shorcuts to your local drives and Cloud Storage accounts.

Recent

Displays the list of files that you have recently opened. The list includes the files from your local drives, as well as your Cloud Storage accounts.

Favorites List

Displays a list of shortcuts to your saved favorite drawings. You can bookmark drawings you often use or want to quickly find.

To add drawings to the Favorites List, right-click a drawing from the list and select Add to Favorites.

To remove drawings from the Favorites List, in Favorites List, right-click and select Remove from Favorites.

This PC

Displays your system folders, devices, and network locations.

Cloud Storage

Lets you browse the attached cloud storage accounts. Each button from the list corresponds to a Cloud Storage account. Clicking a button displays the list of drawings and folders from the selected Cloud Storage.

At any time, you can manage the available Cloud Storage services.

  • Manage storages . Opens the Storage page of the Cloud Storage explorer in a web browser window and lets you manage your Cloud Storage services.
  • Refresh . Reloads the content from the current location.

Browse

Opens the classic file opening dialog box, in which you can navigate to your file location.

Drawing List

Displays the content of the specified folder.

A preview of each drawing appears as you hover the mouse pointer over the list. Toggle Preview lets you turns on and off the drawing preview when hovering the mouse pointer over the list.

Use the buttons on the top of the list to navigate and search the files:

  • Back . Displays the previous location on your computer or on the Cloud Storage.
  • Home . Displays the default location on your computer or the root folder on your Cloud Storage account.
  • Up . Navigates to the parent folder in the current path.
  • New folder. . Creates a new folder in the current path. You can specify the name.
  • Delete . Deletes the specified folder or file.
  • Path control: Click an item from the path to open the corresponding folder.
  • Refresh . Reloads the content from the current location.
  • Search. Lets you find a file by specifying a part of its name.

File Name Drop-down List

Displays the name of the drawing that you select in the drawing list. The drop-down list displays all files from the current folder.

Additionally, you can type the full path to the drawing that you want to save or open, including the root directory.

You can use the drop-down list to search a file in the current folder. When you are typing drawing names and paths, the drop-down list filters the drawings from the specified folder. Filtering based on the path to the drawing file is always case insensitive.

To navigate the drop-down list, use the arrow keys or the mouse.

File Type Drop-down List

When you are saving drawing files, lets you specify the format in which you save the file.

When you are opening drawing files, filters the drawing list according to the specified file type.

Open / Save

Opens or saves the selected file.

Note: The button name varies according to the purpose of the files selection dialog box.

Use system file dialog

Uses the classic Open system file dialog box when creating, opening, and saving drawings. The classic Open system file dialog provides the options necessary when you work with drawings from your local drive only.

To return to the Cloud friendly file opening dialog box, disable the Use system file dialog option from the System Options.
