Importing Drawings from CorelDRAW or Corel DESIGNER
Use the ImportCorel command to import drawings either from CorelDRAW® or Corel DESIGNER®.
The command inserts .cdr or .des files at the coordinate system origin in the current drawing.
To import a drawing from a CorelDRAW or Corel DESIGNER file:
- Click File > Import > Import CDR (or type ImportCorel).
- In the dialog box, specify the type of file you want to insert:
- CorelDRAW (.cdr file format)
- Corel DESIGNER (.des file format)
- Navigate to the file to insert and click Open.
- The source file displays in the graphics area.
If the Corel source file contains multiple pages, these are arranged one beneath the other in the graphics area (i.e. in Model workspace). In addition, for each page of the source file, a Sheet is created. Drawing units in the graphics area represent the page settings of the source file (millimeters or inches), not real world units. If necessary, scale the imported drawing to your needs. Drawing items lying beneath the page layout area in the Corel source file are also imported. Objects on non-printable layers (in .cdr/ .des source file) are ignored (not imported). To import such objects you need to enable printing for the respective layers in CorelDRAW / Corel DESIGNER and save the .cdr/ .des file again before using the ImportCorel command.
