Use the -Print command to send the drawing to a printer, plotter, or file.
It is the command window variant of the Print command.
To print a drawing (without using advanced print options):
- Type -Print at the command prompt.
- At the Advanced print options? prompt, specify No.
- Specify the Sheet name to print (Model or a layout Sheet name).
Type ? to list all Sheets.
- Specify the printer name.
Type ? to list all printers. Printers and plotters available on your system and network are listed. PDF, JPG, PNG, and SVG are also listed. These built-in printers print to file in the specified format.
- Specify whether to print to file.
- If you specified to print to file or specified a built-in printer (PDF, JPG, PNG, or SVG), specify the output file name.
- Specify whether to apply print settings to the Sheet.
Changes to current settings are saved as preferences in the Print dialog box.
- At the Print now? prompt, specify Yes to print the drawing or No to cancel the output.
To print a drawing (using advanced print options):
- Type -Print at the command prompt.
- At the Advanced print options? prompt, specify Yes.
- Specify the Sheet name to print (Model or a layout Sheet name).
Type ? to list all Sheets.
- Specify the printer name.
Type ? to list all printers. Printers and plotters available on your system and network are listed. PDF, JPG, PNG, and SVG are also listed. These built-in printers print to file in the specified format.
- Specify the paper size.
Type ? to list all paper sizes.
- Specify the paper units to use (Inches or Millimeters).
This setting is relevant when setting the print scale (see below).
- Specify the output orientation (Portrait or Landscape).
- Specify whether to print upside down.
- Specify the print range (area to print):
- All geometry. Prints the range that is defined by the bounding box of all visible entities.
- Drawing boundary / Sheet. Prints the range that is defined by the drawing boundaries (when the Model tab is active) or the range that is defined by the Sheet size definition (when a Sheet tab is active).
- Specify. Lets you define two opposite points for the print boundaries in the graphics area.
- Current view. Prints the drawing that is visible on screen.
- To specify the print scale, define one of the following:
- The ratio between paper units (in inches or millimeters) to drawing units.
- The Fit option to fit the specified area to print to paper size.
- The Resolution option and specify the print resolution to use (in dpi). This option returns to the print scale prompt.
- Do one of the following:
- Specify the X,Y offset to set margins.
- Specify the Center option to adjust the output with equal margins at the top, bottom, left, and right.
This option is not available if a Sheet tab is active. Adjust the X and Y margins of the printout as needed.
- Specify whether to use a PrintStyle table.
- If you specified to use a PrintStyle table, specify the name of the PrintStyle.
Type ? to list all PrintStyle names.
Type . to use no PrintStyle.

- Specify whether to use assigned LineWeights.
- Specify the shade mode when printing: As displayed, Wireframe, Hidden, or Rendered (when the Model tab is active).
- If you specified a printer which is available on your system, specify whether to print to file.
- If you specified to print to file or specified a built-in printer (PDF, JPG, PNG, or SVG), specify the output file name.
- Specify whether to apply print settings to the Sheet.

- At the Print now? prompt, specify Yes to print the drawing or No to cancel the output.
