Converting Shapes into Blocks

Shape files allow storing and sharing geographic information, such as points, lines, and polygons.

To make the content of the shape files available in a drawing, convert shapes into blocks.

The ConvertShape command converts shapes into blocks.

To convert shapes into Blocks:

  1. Type ConvertShape at the command prompt.
  2. In the graphics area, specify the shape to convert.
  3. Type the name of the Block and press Enter.

    A Block with the specified name is created. The Block contains the same entities as the original shape.
