Walls may consist of multiple layers or regions. Each layer or region of a multi component wall may have a material. For example, one layer of insulation, a layer of wood, and one layer of brick for the wall itself.
When you specify a wall in the graphics area, the Properties palette identifies whether the entity type is multi component wall or not.
The BIM Multi Component palette displays the list of materials used for a specified multi component wall, as they appear in the BIM file.
If the BIM model contains multi component walls, you can map materials to materials from the library and assign different textures to each component of the multi-component wall using the BIM Material Mapper palette.
The BIMMultiComponent command displays the BIM Multi Component palette.
After mapping the materials from the BIM file, BIM entities will be represented in drawings according to the style definition available for the corresponding material in the CAD software.
