Home Tab - Working with Drawings

The Home tab provides options to quickly create new drawings and access frequently used files.

Provides various options to quickly access frequently used files. Additionally, Sample files displays a set of drawings delivered with the application.

  • Create new drawings

  • Open, preview, or delete existing drawings

  • Search drawings

  • Access drawings using the Recent and Favorites lists

  • Start using the software using sample drawings provided with the application

File Category Drop-Down List

Lets you switch the list and lets you use the Home tab for one the following drawings categories:

  • Recent Files. Shows drawings you recently opened, with the most recently modified drawings at the top. The list includes both, drawings stored on your local computer and in the Cloud Storage. You can create a new drawing using the New, or the New from template shortcuts.

  • Favorite Files. Shows drawings you mark as favorites. You can add or remove files from your favorites using the file context menu.

  • Sample Files. Shows sample drawings delivered with the application. Use sample drawings to explore features and commands, and familiarise yourself with the environment.

File Management Tools

Groups options for sorting, displaying, and searching drawings.

Display Options

Lets you choose how to display the drawings. Use the drop-down list to switch between Grid grid_view and List list_view .

  • Grid grid_view . Displays drawings as thumbnails. You can modify the size of thumbnails using the slider.

  • List list_view . Displays drawings in a detailed list. Additionally, it shows the name, last opened time, and location for each file. When selecting a drawing, you can see a preview, as well as additional information, in the File Preview section. Use show_hide_preview to show or hide the File preview section.

Lets you adjust the size of drawing thumbnails when the Grid grid_view display option is active.

Sorting Options

Lets you specify sorting options for files, when the Grid grid_view display option is active. You can specify:

  • Sort by Last Modified. Sorts drawings according to the time of the latest save.

  • Sort by Name. Sorts drawings alphabetically.

Use the arrow button to switch between ascending arrow_up and descending arrow_down order.

When the List list_view display option is active, you can click on headers in the drawings list to sort drawings.

Search Field

Lets you search for a specific drawing. You can type the entire name of the drawing for more accurate results, or use a portion of the file name to search for multiple drawings.

Drawing Area

Shows drawing files, and lets you create new drawings. Additionally, you can right-click an existing drawing to perform more actions using options from the file context menu.

File Context Menu

Right-clicking a drawing on the Home tab provides a context menu. You can use the context menu to manage drawings. The displayed options vary according to the active sorting option.

Rename

Renames the specified drawing

Browse Containing Folder

Opens the folder containing the specified drawing

Add to favorites

Adds the specified drawing to the Favorite Files list. This option is available when the Recent Files or the Sample files sorting options are active.

Remove from favorites

Removes the specified drawing from the Favorite Files list. This option is available when the Favorite Files sorting option is active.

Remove from recent

Removes the specified drawing from the Recent Files list. This option is available when the Recent Files sorting option is active.
