Creating Hole Tables

When you create a hole table, Toolbox inserts an associative chart of locations for holes you specify.

To create a hole table:

  1. Click Hole Table prq1450396852227 (Mechanical toolbar) or Mechanical Annotate > Hole Table > Insert.

    Prompts for hole table creation appear in the Command window.

    You can begin hole table insertion immediately or you can first specify hole table settings.

  2. To specify hole table settings, type Settings and press Enter.

    The Toolbox - Settings dialog box opens to the Hole Table screen of the Tables section.

  3. Under Display:

    1. To display a hole table title, select Display title and select the orientation of the table header

    2. Select the table anchor point.

    3. To change layer preferences, click Change.

  4. Under Text:

    1. Select the Text style from a list of text styles you have defined.

    2. For Size, type the font size.

    3. From the Change case list, select the case for the hole description.

  5. Under Miscellaneous:

    1. Select a table Template.

    2. Set the Precision for the hole dimensions by selecting from 0 to 8 decimal places from the drop-down list.

    3. Select the Origin symbol that appears at the origin when you create a table.

      Your selection becomes the default origin symbol.

      Your choices are:

      • Top left

  6. Click OK.

  7. In the Command window, if you want to override the origin symbol in the hole table settings, specify a different origin symbol.

  8. Specify the origin location by doing one of the following:

    • Click in the graphics area.

    • Specify coordinates in the Command windows and press Enter.

    The Toolbox software calculates hole positions relative to the origin.

  9. Select each hole to include in the table, then press Enter.

  10. In the graphics area, click to place the upper left corner of the table.

    You can also specify coordinates in the Command window.

    The table and origin appear at the locations you specified and the holes you selected are labeled to correspond to the rows in the table.
