«Modify Section Line Style» Dialog Box

This dialog box lets you specify the properties of the selected section line.

In the Section Line dialog box, click Settings to display the Modify Section Line Style dialog box.

Use the options to configure the detail view identifier properties. The preview area displays how the section line will look with the specified settings.

Note: Some settings in this dialog box take effect only when you create new section lines.

Identifier and Arrows

Identifier

Groups options for specifying the text style, color, and height for displaying section line identifiers.

Exclude characters	Lets you specify a set of characters that must not be used as section line identifiers.
Shows identifiers at all bends	When enabled, it displays the identifier at all vertices of the section line. Otherwise, the identifier appears only at the ends of the section line.
Use continuous labeling	When enabled, names end points and bends with consecutive letters of the alphabet.

Direction arrows

Groups options for configuring the shape, the color, and the size of the direction arrows on the section line.

Show direction arrows	When enabled, it displays the direction arrows at the end points of the section line.
Start symbol	Specifies the symbol type to use at the start point of the section line.
End symbol	Specifies the symbol type to use at the end point of the section line.
Symbol color	Specifies the color to use for arrowheads. Both endpoints use the same color.
Symbol size	Specifies the size of arrowheads. You can select from the available values.
Extension length	Specifies the length of the extension lines used by the direction arrows.

Arrangement

Groups options for placement of identifiers.

Identifier position	Specifies where to place the section line label. End of cutting plane Outside direction arrow line Outside direction arrow symbol Start of direction arrow End of direction arrow
Identifier offset	Lets you offset the section line identifier from the position specified by the identifier position setting.
Arrow direction	Specifies the direction where arrows should point: Towards cutting plane Away from cutting plane

Cutting Plane

Groups options for setting the properties for ends, bends, and plane line segments used by section lines.

End and bend lines

Groups options for end and bend line segments of the section line.

The following options specify the appearance of the end and bend lines of the section line. All segments of the section line use the same color, line type and weight.

• Line color

• Line type

• Line weight

Show end and bend lines	When enabled, displays the end and bend line segments of the section line.
End line length	Specifies the length of the end segments.
End line overshoot	Specifies the length of the extension beyond the direction arrows.
Bend line length	Specifies the length of the bend line segment on either side of the bend vertices.

Cutting plane lines

Groups the properties for plane line segments of section line.

Show cutting plane lines

When enabled, displays all segments of the section line. Otherwise, only the end lines are displayed.

The following options specify the appearance of the section line. All segments have the same properties

• Line color

• Line type

• Line weight

View Label

Identifier

Groups options for specifying the text style, color, and height for displaying section line identifiers.

Show view label

When enabled, displays the content of the label of the section line.

The following options specify the appearance of the label text:

• Text style

• Text color

• Text height

You can specify a text style from a list of predefined text formats. If necessary, you can add more styles to the list. Clicking displays the Options dialog box. From the Drafting Styles page, you can add new custom text styles to the list.

Label contents

Lets you specify the information to display in the section line label. To configure the label content, click Field .

Displays the Field dialog box, which lets you add more section line properties to the content of the label. The following section line properties are available:

• ViewSectionStartId. Includes the ending section line identifier in the section line label.

• ViewSectionEndId. Includes the starting section line identifier in the label.

• ViewType. Includes the word “Section” in the section line label.

Restore Defaults

Restores settings to the default values according to the current standard.
