Toolbox - Settings Dialog Box: Hardware

Use the Hardware category of the Toolbox - Settings dialog box to specify settings for bolts and screws, nuts, pins, and washers you add to drawings.

To access annotation settings:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, select Mechanical Content > Settings.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Content > Settings.

    • On the Mechanical toolbar, click Settings tzn1450396823805 .

  2. In the Toolbox - Settings dialog box, click Hardware.

To modify hardware settings during creation:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, select Mechanical Content > Hardware > Insert.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Content > Hardware > Insert.

    • On the Mechanical toolbar, click Hardware Insert nsw1450396850165 .

    • Type AM_Hardware.

  2. In the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box, select a hardware category and click Settings.

    Specify settings and click OK to return to the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box to configure and insert hardware components.

General

The following settings are available for all categories of hardware:

Option

Description

Create as block

Creates the hardware component in the drawing as a 1:1 block.

When cleared, the hardware component is created as an individual entity.

It is recommended that you select Create as block so that Toolbox recognizes the component when you edit the entity or create a bill of materials.

Verify BOM

Opens the Toolbox - Verify Bill of Materials Data dialog box when you click OK.

Use this dialog box to verify or modify the part description and specify a part number.
