Updating Calculated Moment of Inertia¶
If you change the contour of a cross section, you must also update the corresponding moment inertia table.
Use the AM_InertiaProfEdit command to update the calculated moment of inertia after changing the size of the cross section.
To update calculated moment of inertia:
Do one of the following:
On the ribbon, click Mechanical Content > Calculations > Predefined Profile Sections > Edit.
On the menu, click Mechanical Content > Calculations > Edit Predefined Profile Sections.
Type AM_InertiaProfEdit.
In the graphics area, specify the table to update.
Follow the steps to define the new size of the cross section for which you want to update the moment of inertia.
The values in the table update according to the updated size of the corresponding cross section.
Snapping to section boundary corners ensures precision when specifying the cross section size.
