Creating a Parallel Construction Line at a Specified Distance

Use the AM_ConstPar command to create a construction line that is parallel to a specified linear entity at a specified distance. You can create parallel construction lines for lines, rays, or xlines.

You can switch between a ray and an xline using the AM_ConstSWI command.

To create a parallel construction line at a distance specified by a point:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Home > Construction Lines > Construction Lines > Parallel with Full Distance.

    • Type AM_ConstPar.

  2. In the graphics area, specify the linear entity the construction line is parallel to.

  3. Specify an insertion point to define the construction line position.

To create parallel construction lines at a specified distance:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Home > Construction Lines > Construction Lines > Parallel with Full Distance.

    • Type AM_ConstPar.

  2. In the graphics area, specify the linear entity the construction line is parallel to.

  3. Specify the Distance option and type a value. Next, specify the side on which to draw the construction line.

    tip To draw multiple construction lines at once, specify a set of distances separated by |.
