Calculating the Moment of Inertia for a Rectangular Cross Section¶
Use the AM_Inertia_Rectangular command to calculate the moment of inertia for the cross section of a rectangular prism.
To calculate a moment of inertia of a rectangular cross section:
Draw the closed boundary of the cross section.
Type AM_Inertia_Rectangular.
Define the rectangular cross section for which you want to calculate the moment of inertia.
Specify the length of the cross section in X direction. You can specify the length value or define two points in the graphics area.
Specify the length of the cross section in Y direction. You can sepcify the length value or define two points in the graphics area.
The table appears attached to the mouse cursor.
In the graphics area, click a point to place the table.
