Calculating the Moment of Inertia for a Hollow Rectangular Cross Section¶
Use the AM_Inertia_Rectangular command to calculate the moment of inertia for the cross section of a rectangular prism.
for the cross section of a hollow rectangular tube
To calculate a moment of inertia of a hollow rectangular tube cross section:
Draw the closed boundary of the cross section.
Type AM_Inertia_TubeRectangular.
Define the rectangular hollow cross section for which you want to calculate the moment of inertia.
Specify the length of the cross section in X direction. You can specify the length value or define two points in the graphics area.
Specify the length of the cross section in Y direction. You can specify the length value or define two points in the graphics area.
Specify the thinkness of the tube. You can specify the thickness value or define two points in the graphics area.
The table appears attached to the mouse cursor.
