Use the AM_Inertia_TubeCircular command to calculate the moment of inertia for the cross section of a hollow cylinder.

To calculate a moment of inertia for a circular hollow section:

  1. Draw the closed boundary of the cross section.

  2. Type AM_Inertia_TubeCircular.

  3. Define the circular hollow section for which you want to calculate the moment of inertia:

    1. Specify the outer diameter of the circular hollow section. Type a value for the diameter or click two points in the graphics area.

    2. Specify the thickness of the tube. Type a value or click two points in the graphics area.

The table appears attached to the mouse cursor.

  4. In the graphics area, click a point to place the table.
