Locating Dimensions with Overridden Text

You can override dimension text to include additional dimension notes, prefixes, and suffixes.

Use the AM_DimCheck command to locate dimensions with text overrides.

To add override text, use the following code:

  • <> automatically displays the measured value

  • \p adds a paragraph break

  • \x forces next line below the dimension line

The command provides two options:

  • Highlight. Highlights all dimensions with text overrides.

  • Edit. Lets you step through each dimension and edit the dimension text.

To locate dimensions with overriden text:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.

    • Type AM_DimCheck.

  2. Specify the Highlight option and press Enter.

    Dimensions with dimension text overrides are highlighted.

To edit dimensions with overriden text:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.

    • Type AM_DimCheck.

  2. Specify the Edit option.

  3. Edit the dimension text as necessary and specify Next.
