Locating Dimensions with Overridden Text¶
You can override dimension text to include additional dimension notes, prefixes, and suffixes.
Use the AM_DimCheck command to locate dimensions with text overrides.
To add override text, use the following code:
<> automatically displays the measured value
\p adds a paragraph break
\x forces next line below the dimension line
The command provides two options:
Highlight. Highlights all dimensions with text overrides.
Edit. Lets you step through each dimension and edit the dimension text.
To locate dimensions with overriden text:
Do one of the following:
On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.
On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.
Type AM_DimCheck.
Specify the Highlight option and press Enter.
Dimensions with dimension text overrides are highlighted.
To edit dimensions with overriden text:
Do one of the following:
On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.
On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Check.
Type AM_DimCheck.
Specify the Edit option.
Edit the dimension text as necessary and specify Next.
