Resizing Entities by Stretching Dimensions

Use the AM_DimStretch command to adjust entities when you stretch or shrink an associate linear or symmetric dimension.

The AM_DimStretch command supports linear and symmetrical dimensions.

To stretch entities by editing linear dimensions:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Stretch.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Stretch.

    • Type AM_DimStretch.

  2. Specify the Linear option and press Enter.

  3. In the graphics area, click the text of the dimension you want to stretch.

  4. Type a new value for the dimension text.

  5. Specify the entities to stretch using a crossing window.

  6. Press Enter.

To stretch entities by editing a symmetric dimension:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Stretch.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Stretch.

    • Type AM_DimStretch.

  2. Specify the Symmetric option and press Enter.

  3. Select the dimension text of the dimension you want to stretch.

  4. Type a new value for the dimension text.

  5. Specify the direction using a selection window.

  6. Select the entities and the associated dimensions to stretch.

  7. Press Enter.
