Splitting Dimensions

Use the AM_DimInsert command to split existing dimensions into multiple dimensions.

You can split the following dimensions:

  • Linear dimensions.

  • Angular dimensions.

  • Arc length dimensions.

To split dimensions:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Insert.

    • On the menu, click Mechanical Annotate > Dimension Tools > Insert.

    • Type AM_DimInsert.

  2. In the graphics area, specify:

    1. A base dimension.

    2. An extension line point.
